Job Role

Seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive strategic organisational priorities and lead high-performing teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical, people leadership, and business skills with experience in managing teams and delivering software projects on time and with high quality.

  • Manage, lead, mentor, and coach one or more engineering teams.
  • Be accountable for the engineering quality of the subject matter areas your teams are responsible for.
  • Work closely with product managers to refine business requirements in alignment with good design principles.
  • Collaborate with team leads and architects to create effective engineering designs that meet business needs and align with best practices.
  • Translate technology into business value.
  • Define, document, and demonstrate excellent software engineering practices with management and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date on new technology changes and features to provide recommendations for process improvements and feature adoption.
  • Facilitate project delivery from your teams, working with product managers, business analysts, business partners, and system administrators.
  • Develop and execute business-critical custom applications and microservices roadmaps.
  • Support production systems affecting the areas your teams are responsible for.
  • Identify risks and prepare mitigation plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or relevant qualification required.
  • 10-15 years of total experience in software development with programming languages experience in Java/J2EE.
  • Extensive experience working with Spring Boot Microservices.
  • Experience with database management systems (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle Database).
  • Proficiency in building agent AI, prompt engineering, and enthusiasm to drive innovation.
  • Minimum 2 years of team management experience as manager capacity - techno-functional management, team management, and people management.
  • Good hands-on expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineers to deliver working software on time and with high quality.
  • Understanding of excellent software engineering practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - architectural skills on the platform(s) your teams work on is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies like React and Angular is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills.
