Principal Instrumentation Specialist

As our first Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the instrument's mechanical design. Your mission is to develop systems that make the instrument fast, stable, and serviceable from sample-load to image.
Main Responsibilities:- Compact Vacuum Chambers Design: Create vacuum chambers that ensure quiet and reliable operation on the bench and in the field.
- Motion Stages and Enclosures Development: Develop motion stages and enclosures that meet performance and stability requirements.
- Assembly and Test Playbook Establishment: Establish fixtures, torque specs, and metrology checks to drive prototype to pilot builds seamlessly.
- Supplier Qualification: Partner closely with suppliers to improve yield and finish quality.
- System-Level Integration: Balance optics, electronics, thermal, acoustic, and safety needs to create a seamless user experience.
