Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled software developer to join our team as a lead programmer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing programming support to various projects and clients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in manipulating large databases and generating reports. Strong SAS and SQL programming skills are required along with complex logic implementation. Creating analysis data sets from various sources demands attention to outliers and errors.

  • SAS or R programming is acceptable.
  • Experience working with patient cohorts, healthcare events and observational research methods like epidemiology and statistical methods is highly desired.
  • Real World Healthcare claims database experience is essential. Equivalent EU database experience to US Market scan/Optum is also valid.
  • OMOP-Common data model experience is beneficial. Familiarity with this experience is sufficient.
  • Strong SQL querying and extracting skills are necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing programming support to various projects and clients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or other high statistical content subjects.
  • 7-8 years of experience in SAS statistical programming.
  • Database programming using SQL.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods like survival and regression.
  • Real world healthcare claims and EHR data experience.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, or other high statistical content subjects.
  • Training or experience using OMOP common data model.
  • Python, R, Databricks or cloud-based software training or experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Epidemiological methods training or experience.
