Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Support Consultant to provide support and guidance for our hospitality management system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the functionality of the Oracle Opera Property Management System (PMS), ensuring seamless day-to-day operations for our clients and stakeholders.

About the Role

This role requires a strong understanding of Oracle Opera's features, workflows, and functionality, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and support delivery.

The Functional Support Consultant will collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure the system is configured, optimized, and aligned with business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day functional support for Oracle Opera PMS, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to bookings, guest profiles, check-ins/check-outs, billing, and reporting.
  • Assist in configuring, setting up, and maintaining Oracle Opera according to business needs, ensuring it aligns with best practices.
  • Deliver user training sessions, create user guides, and maintain up-to-date documentation to ensure efficient and effective system usage.
  • Coordinate and assist with system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for functional issues, escalate technical problems to the relevant teams, and track issue resolution.
  • Support testing efforts for new functionality, system enhancements, and customizations, ensuring system stability and data accuracy.
  • Work closely with IT teams, technical consultants, and developers to ensure system performance, integrations, and data flow across other software systems.
  • Proactively identify and recommend process improvements, new features, and best practices to enhance system usage and support business goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Hospitality Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with **Oracle Opera PMS**, preferably in a support or functional consulting capacity.
  • Proven track record in system configuration, support, troubleshooting, and user training.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Opera PMS, including modules such as Front Desk, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Billing.
  • Experience with data migration, system integration, and business process alignment within Oracle Opera.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL queries is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, if necessary, to support system issues or upgrades.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the hospitality industry or with property management systems is highly desirable.
  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Specialist – Oracle Opera).
  • Knowledge of other hospitality-related software systems and integrations.
  • Multilingual capabilities a plus.
Salary Estimate

The salary range for this position is approximately $80,000 - $120,000 per year, based on location and experience.
