This senior role is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of raw materials, equipment, and services required to maintain smooth operations of mining and processing units. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement plans aligned with business objectives.
- Sourcing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts for essential equipment, spare parts, explosives, fuel, and other mining-related consumables.
- Maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
- Monitoring market trends, commodity prices, and logistics costs to achieve significant cost savings.
- Coordinating with operations and warehouse teams to optimize inventory planning.
- Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Ensuring all purchases comply with statutory requirements, safety norms, and environmental regulations.
- Managing contracts with logistics providers for mineral transportation.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation in procurement.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the procurement team to meet business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 7-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 4-5 years in the minerals/mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management, and MS Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with safety, statutory compliance, and sustainability practices in mining.
