The Placement Director is a key role that oversees the entire placement process for students. This position requires strong industry connections, excellent negotiation skills, and effective communication.

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for preparing students for placements, ensuring their placement in various programs, and monitoring progress throughout the process. You should have a target-driven approach, be well-connected with corporates, and possess excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong industry connections with private sector companies, startups, recruitment firms, and HR consultants.
  • Engaging with industry associations, forums, and captains to promote campus recruitment.
  • Nurturing online communities and social media platforms to facilitate job opportunities.
  • Maintaining a versatile network through job portals and technology platforms.

Additionally, you will need to interact with industries regularly to discuss career opportunities and employment trends. This involves connecting with other resources and institutions, identifying internship opportunities for students, handling placement data management, and preparing reports for periodical reviews.

Skill-set Required

To excel in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in management, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in the placement process, such as on-campus placement drives, off-campus placement drives, placement portals, applicants' tracking systems (ATS), and other HR software.

Experience

A minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate placements, preferably in the NCR region, is essential for this role. Your expertise should include PAN India networking, working in multi-disciplinary universities, and possessing strong Delhi – NCR network connections.
