Software Architect Position

Job Overview

Our organization seeks a skilled software architect to design and develop innovative, scalable, and efficient software solutions.

  3. Design and develop architectural frameworks and data services to ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability.
  4. Evaluate and implement technology upgrades and architectural enhancements to maintain system performance.
  5. Lead the design of data architectures, leveraging Big Data tools (Kafka, AWS S3 EMR, Spark) to process, transform, and manage data at scale.
  6. Architect applications and microservices that integrate seamlessly with internal and external services.
  7. Provide mentorship to senior and junior engineers, driving a culture of excellence in design and architecture.
  8. Conduct performance analysis and ensure capacity planning for all releases.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Deep expertise in designing scalable and efficient software architectures, including system design patterns, performance tuning, and data pipeline optimization.
  • Extensive experience in high-quality Scala code development, particularly with an emphasis on functional programming principles and test-driven development.
  • Cloud architecture expertise, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB, EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, and S3.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, driving process improvements, and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in software architecture and development, with a strong focus on enterprise-level solutions.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale data processing systems using Big Data tools such as Apache Spark, Scala, and Hadoop.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Scala/Java microservices development using Spring Boot.

Additional Information

Experience with relational databases and SQL, designing systems that scale and perform effectively under high load, is also desirable.

A background in educational technology or experience working with large-scale, mission-driven software platforms is preferred.
