Job Title: Executive Risk Management Specialist

Job Description:

The Executive Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a risk-based annual Internal Audit plan. This plan will be based on management inputs, business priorities, and an assessment of the business risk environment.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in undertaking audits across a wide and diverse area of the organization. They will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface and influence all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development of a risk-based annual Internal Audit plan based on management inputs, business priorities, and an assessment of the business risk environment.
  2. Identify and finalize vendors to be contracted for the execution of program activities.
  3. Lead the execution of the Internal Audit Plan (in-house or outsourced) as approved by the audit committee.
  4. Ensure timely execution as per plan and reporting to all stakeholders.
  5. Track, monitor, and report the status of open Internal Audit observations to all stakeholders every month.
  6. Lead the execution of follow-up audits to assess efficacy and effectiveness of management remediation on observations noted in internal audit reviews.
  7. Develop and maintain Internal Audit SOP, including templates, protocols, and documentation requirements.
  8. Create a repository of audit programs, checklists, templates, and tools as an aid for standardization and consistency in the execution of the internal audit program.
  9. Plan, develop, and maintain audit support tools to improve audit process quality and efficiency.
  10. Partner and support the Risk Management function and provide inputs to identify and assess entity and functional level risks.
  11. Provide input to the risk identification and assessment program for new emerging risks identified during the execution of the internal audit program.
  12. Leverage the output of risk assessment as an input to develop a based internal audit plan.
  13. Monitor risk mitigation steps, initiatives taken by management to assess its effectiveness, and calibrate internal audit procedures.
  14. Leverage the output of other programs working as 2nd line of defense (Quality, Safety, and Security) as an input for internal audit planning and execution.

Essential Education:

Chartered Accountant

Desired Education:

CIA, CISA, CWA

Experience:

10 to 15 years of experience in implementing, delivering, and embedding risk management at both strategic and operational levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience of undertaking audits across a wide and diverse area of the organization.
  • Well-equipped with knowledge/skills in corporate governance, internal audit & risk management domains.
