Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and review of complex financial services client tax returns, primarily for hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.
  • Conduct a detailed review of state returns for financial services clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart analysis and review international tax returns.
  • Train new hires on tax concepts, technologies, and provide timely feedback on project reviews.
  • Facilitate regular connections with US counterparts and resolve conflicts related to budgets, resource scheduling, etc.
  • Guide staff/senior personnel on potential tax adjustments due to law changes, e-filing validations, and other technical aspects.
  • Mentor team members to achieve high-quality work and adherence to timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unexpected scenarios.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong learning abilities, positive attitude, and teamwork mindset.
  • Prepared to work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks based on urgency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (US), or IRS Enrolled Agent certification.
  • Experience in detail review of tax returns.
