Job Title: Senior Associate

Location:

Erode, India

We seek a seasoned professional to join our team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in indirect tax advisory/litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of legal provisions to provide expert advice to clients.
  • Draft and prepare compliance reports, opinions, and advises.
  • Develop and present PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
  • Analyze client data to estimate tax impact on business transactions and identify the most tax-efficient business model.
  • Contribute to the creation of articles, monographs, and other knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, proactively identifying and discussing technical issues with clients while ensuring firm risk issues are addressed.
  • Handle tax matters, including preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation during tax authorities' meetings and appeals.
  • Work independently on smaller client bases, assuming near-independent responsibility.
  • Develop rapport with middle layers of client management and enhance commercial acumen.
  • Stay updated on firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends, and apply this knowledge to deliver solutions to clients.
Networking & Identification of Opportunities:
  • Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate these to managers.
  • Network internally within peer groups and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues impacting clients.
  • Compile legal databases and contribute to study sessions, staying updated with latest legal developments such as circulars, notifications, and decisions.
  • Mentor Associates and guide them on their working.
