Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to lead our data engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Scala and Python, with experience in Apache Spark, HDFS, and distributed blob storages. They should also be familiar with technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage data engineering teams, ensuring seamless collaboration with architects, product managers, and operations.
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code for provisioning data infrastructure.
  • Ensure smooth operation of big data systems and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • 7-12 years of experience in big data engineering.
  • A proven track record of leading data engineering teams and managing cross-functional collaboration.
  • Deep knowledge of HDFS internals and migration strategies.
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar table formats.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams.
