Job Title: Deputy General Manager Human Resources

This role involves spearheading the human resources function for quality and operations at a manufacturing site.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic HR Partner: Plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resource programs. Develop partnerships with business leaders to understand their needs and align HR strategies accordingly.

  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Responsible for attracting top talent by providing a capable workforce within a tight turnaround time to ensure business continuity. Identify manpower requirements based on business priorities, plan budgets, and hire in accordance.

  • HR Manpower Planning, Budgeting: Assist in budgeting processes for all HR items (manpower costs, operational expenses) and headcount requirements. Regularly review and monitor actual spending against approved budgets, ensure optimum utilization of manpower budgets, and analyze trends to maintain manpower costs within budget.

  • Performance Management: Drive continuous performance management and annual compensation reviews for the site. Train line managers on goal setting and performance feedback sharing. Enable business leaders to make informed decisions regarding promotions, compensation revisions, and other key personnel matters.

  • Talent Management: Conduct regular talent management reviews and ensure that development/retention plans are executed. Create and implement succession plans for critical roles. Understand the site's talent priorities, identify development needs, and develop programs to address them.

  • Learning & Development: Foster a culture of learning and high performance. Identify training needs, prepare training calendars, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Collaborate with corporate HR teams to implement various training programs for the site.

  • HR Compliance & Statutory Obligations: Ensure HR legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable statutory laws, maintaining records, and representing the organization at relevant associations related to human resources. Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance.

  • Labour Management: Maintain harmonious and productive industrial relations. Track productivity and identify areas for cost savings. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations by manpower vendors. Promote a healthy and productive work environment, resolve employee grievances promptly, and take disciplinary actions as needed.

  • Employee Engagement & Wellbeing: Implement initiatives and daily activities to impact key drivers of employee engagement. Lead wellbeing initiatives at the site with the aim of achieving holistic wellbeing for employees.

  • HR Operations: Oversee and review all HR operations related to the employee lifecycle to streamline and improve efficiency. Guide and coach HR team members to take on more responsibility, manage stakeholders effectively, and develop future leaders.

  • Special Projects: Support in conceptualizing and executing special HR-related projects to meet specific business needs from time to time.
