Indirect Tax Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Compliance Specialist to join our finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of US Sales, Use tax returns and VAT/GST returns. They will also support other finance team members on these tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with preparing and filing US Sales, Use tax returns and VAT/GST returns
  • Supporting other finance team members on US Sales, Use tax returns and VAT/GST returns
  • Assisting with US Business licenses filings
  • Assisting with transaction tax including business occupation tax and gross receipts tax
  • Assisting in responding and complying to Sales tax, Use tax, VAT/GST notices
  • Assisting with Sales, Use tax audit, filing VDA and VAT/GST notices
  • Assisting with filing application for US state registrations
  • Reviewing and posting tax accrual on a monthly basis and preparing account reconciliation
  • Coordinating with the tax accounting team to ensure efficient integration of the tax accounting and international tax compliance processes

Requirements:

  • Masters in Tax or Accounting (B Com, CA, CPA preferred)
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Knowledge and understanding of OneSource, Avalara, Net Suite is preferable
  • Self-initiate research and resourceful in their approach to resolve any issues irrespective of subject matter knowledge
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Excel and ability to create models as needed that reflect this depth of understanding
  • Analytical skills with good attention to detail, motivation, and confidence to independently address issues
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate interact with internal and external stakeholders
