Key Responsibilities:System Monitoring & Maintenance
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and job queues to identify and resolve system bottlenecks and errors.
  • Maintain system health through regular diagnostics and performance tuning.
Job Scheduling & Automation
  • Use IBM i Job Scheduler to automate batch jobs and system tasks.
  • Coordinate with application teams to optimize job dependencies and scheduling windows.
Backup & Recovery
  • Develop backup strategies using SAVSYS, SAVLIB, SAVOBJ, and IFS backups.
  • Perform regular restoration tests to validate backup integrity.
Security & User Management
  • Administer user profiles and security policies.
Software & System Updates
  • Install and patch IBM i operating system and related software.
Capacity Planning & Documentation
  • Forecast system growth and recommend hardware upgrades.
