Blockchain Data Engineer

About this Role:

Transforming raw on-chain data into actionable insights is a key challenge for any blockchain organization. As a skilled Blockchain Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in decoding smart contract events and implementing pricing logic from decentralized exchanges (DEXs).

This role requires a strong understanding of low-level protocol work, DeFi mechanics, and the ability to build robust data pipelines that power real-time pricing engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the development of event decoders for major DeFi protocols.
  • Build and maintain data extractors that convert on-chain events into structured trade data.
  • Implement logic to calculate trade prices, including handling swap routing, liquidity pool math, and price inference.
  • Work closely with data and infra teams to build efficient and scalable data ingestion pipelines.
  • Optimize performance and accuracy of pricing models.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and efficient back-end code in Go or Rust.

Requirements:

  • 2–5+ years of back-end development experience in Go or Rust.
  • Strong understanding of Ethereum smart contract ABI decoding and event logs.
  • Experience working with DeFi protocols, especially AMM math and Uniswap V3 ticks.
  • Familiarity with EVM-based chains and Ethereum node infrastructure.
  • Experience building data extraction or indexing tools.
  • Ability to work independently and own complex back-end systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working directly with blockchain nodes or building custom RPC-based services.
  • Familiarity with price oracles and on-chain data feeds.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Contributions to DeFi or crypto open-source projects.
