Senior Backend Video Engineer Position

Role Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Backend Video Engineer to spearhead complex backend projects involving video and contribute to the creation of exceptional user experiences.

  • The ideal candidate will possess expertise in front-end technologies, video streaming, and back-end systems with a strong emphasis on performance improvements and migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading complex backend projects that involve multiple engineers, focusing on performance enhancements and system migrations. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, design solutions, and deliver impactful features.

  • Lead complex backend projects that involve multiple engineers, focusing on performance improvements and migrations.
  • Design and implement scalable backend solutions for video processing features, including encoding, transcoding, and adaptive streaming.
  • Enhance video storage, retrieval, and streaming performance through the use of CDNs, caching, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, design solutions, and deliver impactful features.
  • Develop and maintain efficient back-end systems for video streaming.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science from a top-tier institution. A minimum of 7 years of experience in back-end software development, with a strong focus on distributed systems and video processing is also required. Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Python, Java, or Go is expected.

  • In-depth understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design.
  • Strong experience in performance optimization, debugging, and scaling complex applications.
  • Experience in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the technical growth of the team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle ambiguous requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
