Director of Data Migration and Automation

Mandate:

  • Oversee data migration projects in software implementation.
  • Utilize expertise in legacy database migration and automation tools & technologies.
  • Familiarize with data methodologies and database management systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management
  • Lead a team of data migration specialists, ensuring they possess necessary skills and resources to execute projects effectively.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
Data Mapping and Transformation
  • Develop comprehensive data mapping and transformation plans to align data from other Intellectual Property solutions with the company's software solution.
  • Ensure IP-related data elements are accurately mapped and transformed to maintain data integrity and consistency during migration.
Competitor Data Analysis
  • Lead analysis of data structures, formats, and schemas from other Intellectual Property solutions.
  • Understand unique data models and features to devise effective migration strategies.
Automation System Development
  • Design, architect, and build an automation system for mapping, transforming, and migrating data from legacy systems to the company's software solution.
  • Develop automation processes, workflows, and scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline the data migration process.
IP Domain Expertise is a Plus
  • Utilize expertise in the Intellectual Property domain to understand nuances of IP data, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related legal entities.
  • Collaborate with legal and subject matter experts to ensure accurate interpretation and migration of IP-related data across systems.
Technical Integration and Customization
  • Work closely with technical teams to integrate the automation system into the data migration workflow.
  • Customize and optimize automation processes to accommodate unique data structures and requirements of IP-related data and legacy systems.
Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Establish specialized quality assurance processes and test cases tailored to IP data migration.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of the automation system to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data migration activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their specific data migration requirements, preferences, and challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clients regarding the migration of IP-related data.
Continuous Learning and Innovation
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data migration and automation in the Intellectual Property domain.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the automation system and methodologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data migration initiatives meet business goals and client expectations.
  • Provide input and feedback on product enhancements and features based on insights gained from other IP solution data migration experiences.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Document migration processes, workflows, and automation procedures specific to Intellectual Property data.
  • Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and workshops to disseminate best practices, lessons learned, and domain-specific expertise to internal teams and clients.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in leading data migration projects in software implementation.
  • Deep understanding of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and technologies, as well as database management systems and data integration platforms.
  • Desirable: experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) domain or related industries.
