Senior Database Developer Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Database Developer to lead our team's database initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in MySQL and MS SQL, with a solid foundation in SQL programming, database architecture, and data integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to translate data requirements into efficient database designs.
  • Optimize complex SQL queries, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.
  • Manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for MySQL and MS SQL, ensure database security, access control, and data integrity, and handle patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for system-to-system data integration and implement data warehousing solutions for reporting and analytics.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6–7 years of proven experience as a Database Developer (MySQL & MS SQL).
  • Expert-level SQL programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale database optimization.
  • Proficiency in administration tasks (backup, recovery, security, replication).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Knowledge of additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
