Job Title: Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement high availability solutions using technologies such as Failover clustering, SQL server AlwaysOn Groups, SQL server mirroring, SAN replication.
  • Evaluate and improve the backup and recovery processes to meet business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
  • Select appropriate technologies for new systems brought in-house, such as clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies.
  • Install and configure new SQL Servers.
  • Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors.
  • Analyze performance issues and determine effective ways to increase performance, including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
  • Document the database environment.
  • Monitor database performance and stability.
  • Establish system performance baselines, recognize deviations, and suggest improvements.
  • Develop technical processes and procedures as needed.
  • Interact with the engineering team, troubleshoot issues, and report project status.
Requirements:
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008,2012, 2014,2016,2017,2019,2022.
  • Production support activities (Installation, Upgradation, Troubleshooting).
  • Performance tuning & troubleshooting.
  • SQL Server migration.
  • T-SQL Scripts for Administration and Monitoring tasks.
  • Microsoft Clustering services knowledge- Install/Configure/support.
  • Relevant operating system knowledge (2008, 2012,2016,2019) as far as MS-SQL databases is concerned.
  • High Availability (Log shipping, Replication and Mirroring) Always ON.
  • User creation & maintenance, database log space monitoring and maintenance.
  • Strong fundamentals of SQL.
  • Strong in SQL Architecture, Backup & Restore process.
  • Configuring CDC replication.
  • Configuring TDE in always on servers.
  • Knowledge on ITIL process.
  • Good communication skills.
