Job Summary:

As a Senior Piping Checker with Bechtel Corporation, you will be responsible for reviewing the work of designers and drafters to ensure compliance with approved design standards. This role involves checking layouts, study drawings, and detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models for construction drawings.


Main Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and checking work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
  • Coordinating or making site visits to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents as required.
  • Reviewing or identifying engineering scope changes for project management as needed.
  • Preparing reports of work progress for project and discipline use as required.
  • Supporting the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
  • Using engineering computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools to review and check designs, drawings, and vendor data.

Education and Experience Requirements:

This role requires:

  • A recognized Diploma/Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Extensive experience in design and drafting.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials.
  • Basic skill in oral and written communication.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Key requirements include:

  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline's design responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline.
  • Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae, and design calculations used in the discipline.
  • Knowledge of 3D/2D tools applicable to the specific discipline work.
