Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Operations Manager to oversee the strategic planning and execution of cargo shipments.

  • Responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Develops cargo movement strategies in alignment with customer requirements and vessel schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Rate Management and Customer Negotiations:
    • Liaise with customers to determine their needs and develop competitive pricing strategies.
    • Approves and standardizes rate offerings based on market trends and operational feasibility.
  • Vessel and Booking Coordination:
    • Ensures timely allocation of bookings in the EBMS system and with carriers.
    • Collaborates with the planning team to secure space, including feeder service requirements when necessary.
  • Inventory and Equipment Management:
    • Coordinates with inventory and MNR teams for container allocation, including arranging Empty Container and CSC certificates as per carrier requirements.
    • Optimizes container inventory planning to meet customer demands and minimize turnaround time.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Communication:
    • Ensures customers receive updated vessel schedules based on cargo readiness.
    • Communicates with customers regarding container pickup status, required documentation, and compliance with List & VGM cut-offs.
  • Operational Oversight and Compliance:
    • Validates and approves any dimension changes, liaising with pricing teams for revised rate approvals.
    • Liaises with operations and carriers to ensure smooth container gate-in processes.
  • Performance Monitoring and Process Optimization:
    • Monitors key performance metrics across planning, execution, and customer service functions.
    • Drives operational excellence by implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Post-Shipment Coordination:
    • Ensures timely ON-BOARD confirmation is shared with customers.
    • Directs the planning and operations team to complete RCVS and LODF entries post-shipment confirmation.
