Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Railway Logistics

Job Title: Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Railway Logistics

Location: Barbil, Odisha (Ahmedabad Location Advantage)

Experience: 4 - 12 years in railway logistics, preferably in the mining or iron ore sector

Education: Graduate (Any discipline) with relevant railway liaison experience

Department: Railway Logistics

  • Liaise with Indian Railways and other relevant authorities to ensure the availability and smooth operation of railway rakes.
  • Coordinate and monitor the movement of iron ore through rail logistics efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maintain regular communication with railway officials to track rake allocation and movement status.
  • Resolve any on-ground operational issues related to rail logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with logistical regulations and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to rake movements and logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison Role: Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments.
  • Railway Expertise: Leverage extensive knowledge of rail freight operations and logistics planning to drive business growth.
  • Operational Efficiency: Implement effective strategies to optimize rail logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Communication Skills: Foster open communication channels with railway officials, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve complex operational issues related to rail logistics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Liaison Capabilities: Establish and maintain strong networks with railway departments, ensuring efficient communication and coordination.
  • Rail Freight Operations: Possess a deep understanding of rail freight operations, logistics planning, and management.
  • Excellent Communication: Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Operational Challenge Management: Handle pressure and solve complex operational challenges swiftly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
