Job Description:

  • A Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing investment portfolios to achieve financial goals while minimizing risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement portfolio management strategies aligned with client objectives
  • Monitor market trends and make informed investment decisions
  • Manage risk through diversification and hedging techniques
  • Analyze portfolio performance and provide regular updates to clients

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in law, finance, accountancy, business management, or completion of the CFA program
  • At least five years of experience in related activities in the securities market, including portfolio management, stock brokerage, investment advisory services, research analysis, or fund management
  • NISM XXI-B certification is mandatory

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a body corporate
  • Adequate infrastructure, including office space, equipment, and personnel, is required
  • A compliance officer must be appointed
  • The principal officer has:
  • A professional qualification in law, finance, accountancy, business management, or completion of the CFA program
  • At least two years of relevant experience must be in portfolio management or investment advisory services, or areas related to fund management

Other Requirements:

  • The applicant must fulfill capital adequacy requirements, specifically maintaining a minimum net worth of Rs. 5 crores
  • The net worth calculation includes paid-up equity capital, free reserves (excluding revaluation reserves), accumulated losses, and deferred expenditures not written off
  • Capital adequacy requirements for each activity undertaken by the applicant under relevant regulations will be met separately and independently
  • The applicant, its directors, principal officers, compliance officers, or employees cannot be involved in any litigation or convicted of offenses involving moral turpitude
