Job Title: Infrastructure Automation Expert

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Automation Expert to join our team. As an expert in automating, building, and operating IT hardware and software resources, you will be responsible for supporting internal customer needs in on-prem, cloud, or hybrid scenarios.

  • This role involves orchestrating operations of Linux-based IT infrastructure development, including automation of administrative tasks across large fleets of servers, capacity planning for workloads, configuring and securing base operating systems, creating and providing metrics, observability analytics, installing and maintaining security and manageability agents, etc.
  • You would use cloud and other off-prem offerings to automate integration with cost-efficient solutions such as storage-as-a-service, containers, and Kubernetes that operate required workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate creation and testing of Linux Server templates for virtual machines and physical hardware using Jenkins and Tekton CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate installation, upgrade, and configuration of Linux Operating Systems, including Suse, Redhat, and Ubuntu, on on-prem and cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Bourne Shell, and PowerShell.
  • Automate manual processes associated with infrastructure deployment via GitOps and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Manage security requirements, performance optimizations, and technical direction for Linux Server Operating Systems.
  • Provide L3 Engineering support to Operations teams for all aspects of Linux Server Operating Systems.
  • Provide cross-team support for deploying infrastructure to multiple target environments, including on-prem, plant, and cloud.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess strong understanding of Linux server administration and automation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins, Tekton CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Bourne Shell, and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with cloud and off-prem offerings such as storage-as-a-service, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
