Job Title: Linux Automation Specialist

This role focuses on automating, building and operating IT hardware and software resources in various environments. Key responsibilities include planning, configuring and maintaining servers, creating and optimizing virtualized environments, and providing observability and reliability metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automate the creation and testing of Linux Server templates for virtual machines and physical hardware using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate the installation, upgrade, and configuration of Linux Operating Systems on-prem and cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Bourne Shell, and PowerShell.
  • Automate manual processes associated with infrastructure deployment via GitOps and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Manage security requirements, performance optimizations, and technical direction for the Linux Server Operating Systems.
  • Provide L3 Engineering support to Operations teams for all aspects of the Linux Server Operating Systems.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively growing responsibilities experience in Linux OS Engineering and automation.
  • Firm understanding of two or more mainstream Linux distributions.
  • Working knowledge of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Bourne Shell scripting.
  • Higher level languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, Groovy, etc.
  • Kubernetes with Openshift experience preferred.
  • Pipeline tool such as Tekton, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
  • Understanding of code testing and test-driven development.
  • Virtualization and server hardware manageability technologies.
