Head Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role:

The Head Electrical Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all electrical maintenance activities in the plant. This includes directing and coordinating maintenance programmes, examining equipment performance, and providing recommendations to enhance maintainability, reliability, and minimize maintenance cost.

This role requires a strong focus on management of maintenance activities, stores consumables, 5S & Safety, Innovation, Automation & Continuous Improvement, and People Management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Management of Maintenance Activities:
    • Develops and implements detailed maintenance procedures and practices ensuring that activities are carried out safely.
    • Timely implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
    • Maintains electronic and hard copy records for all equipment and ensures regular preventive and condition monitoring surveys are carried out by subordinates.
    • Monitors the performance and maintenance cost for various mechanical including providing recommendations to enhance maintainability, alleviate operations anomalies, and minimize the maintenance cost of such equipment.
    • Provides alternative maintenance frequencies based on equipment history or regular monitoring surveys in pursuit of optimization.
    • Liaises with other Maintenance and Operations Department sectional heads to coordinate inter-discipline work activities or to arrange for plant shutdowns, including participating in such shutdowns, major overhauls, and other maintenance planning activities.
  • Management of Stores Consumables:
    • Evaluates requirements for any new equipment or major repairs, assesses use of existing as well as new proposals, and raises recommendations.
    • Safeguards against material shortage at any point of time and ensures delivered materials meet required standards and specifications.
    • Optimizes consumables consumption as per the annual business plan.
  • 5S & Safety:
    • Ensures daily 5S activities are carried out in the shop floor.
    • Guarantees use of PPEs and other work specific safety equipment by all employees / workers working inside the plant premises and works toward establishing an accident-free workplace with conducive work environment.
    • Ensures PEP talks / TBT are being given to all employees and workers before starting any operational / Maintenance activities.
  • Innovation, Automation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Drives continuous improvement projects for improving the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the existing equipment's through appropriate data analysis.
    • Performs 7 QC tool-based analysis on various quality related issues / rejections and suggests changes / modification in the production process and procedure.
    • Drives continuous improvement projects in the department. Motivates and encourages team members for maximum participation.
    • Ensures 100% compliance and proper documentation and record keeping as per IMS standards.
  • People Management:
    • Timely completion of the department performance review process.
    • Timely completion of skill assessment process and work towards improving the individual skill index.
    • Maximizes participation of team members in employee engagement activities.
