Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Solutions Expert to manage and maintain our storage and backup infrastructure within a large enterprise environment.



This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and security of storage and backup services to meet the needs of clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery solutions for critical data and systems.
  • Monitor storage and backup performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for storage and backup-related incidents and service requests escalated from L1 support teams.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for storage and backup environments to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including configuration guides, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on storage and backup performance, capacity, and health metrics.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure integrated and efficient storage and backup operations.
  • Manage changes to storage and backup environments through rigorous testing, coordination, and documentation to minimize risks and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with storage and backup vendors and service providers to resolve escalated issues and optimize storage and backup services.


Qualifications We Seek:Minimum Qualifications / Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant professional training are a plus.
  • Good experience in managing and supporting storage and backup infrastructure within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions (e.g., EMC, NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon).
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam).
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing storage arrays and backup software.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and management tasks related to storage and backup.


Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
  • Certification in storage and backup technologies (e.g., EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator).
  • Experience with cloud storage and backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
