Storage Architect Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Storage Architect to design, implement and manage enterprise-class storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with XtremIO X2 all-flash storage arrays and be proficient in SAN management, protocol configuration and VMware integration.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of multi-vendor SAN knowledge, Azure storage solutions and performance optimization techniques. They will also have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot complex storage-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • XtremIO X2 Expertise:

    • Administer, configure and troubleshoot XtremIO X2 all-flash storage arrays.
    • Provide expert-level administration and deep hands-on experience with XtremIO X2 all-flash storage arrays.

  • SAN Management:

    • Design and configure SAN fabric infrastructure.
    • Manage zoning, LUN masking and troubleshooting connectivity issues on various SAN switches.

  • Protocol Configuration:

    • Implement and manage iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC) configurations.

  • VMware Integration:

    • Architect and manage storage solutions for VMware environments.
    • Provision, map and optimize datastores.

  • Azure Storage Solutions:

    • Design, implement and manage storage solutions within Microsoft Azure.
    • Utilize Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files and Azure Persistent Disks.

  • Performance Optimization:

    • Monitor storage performance and identify bottlenecks.
    • Implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal system responsiveness.

  • Upgrades and Maintenance:

    • Plan and execute storage system upgrades and firmware updates.
    • Routine maintenance activities with minimal disruption.

  • Capacity Planning:

    • Perform capacity planning and forecasting.
    • Ensure adequate storage resources are available to meet future demands.

  • Troubleshooting and Incident Management:

    • Lead the resolution of complex storage-related incidents.
    • Provide root cause analysis.

  • Documentation:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation.
    • Storage configurations, procedures and best practices.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with server administrators, network engineers and application teams.
    • Seamless integration of storage solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mandatory:

    • Expert-level administration and deep hands-on experience with XtremIO X2 all-flash storage arrays.
    • Strong hands-on experience in configuring and managing SAN switches (zoning, LUN masking).
    • Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC) connectivity.
    • Solid understanding and practical experience with VMware storage integration and datastore mapping.
    • Experience with Dell Compellent SAN storage arrays.
    • Hands-on experience with Azure storage services: Blob Storage, Files and Persistent Disks.

  • Preferred:

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in Storage Architecture and/or L3 Storage Administration roles.
    • Significant hands-on experience with enterprise-class storage solutions.
