Job Description:

As a seasoned Indirect Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and business origination through the development and execution of strategic plans.

You will lead practice leadership and strategic growth by providing thought leadership and direction to the indirect tax practice. Additionally, you will advise clients on GST legislation, litigation, and strategic tax advisory across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Generation & Business Origination: Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth and business origination in the indirect tax practice.
  • Practice Leadership & Strategic Growth: Provide thought leadership and direction to the indirect tax practice, driving strategic growth and expansion.
  • Client Advisory & Regulatory Advocacy: Advise clients on indirect tax matters, including GST legislation, litigation, and strategic tax advisory across industries.
  • Litigation Strategy & Dispute Resolution: Develop and implement litigation strategies and dispute resolution plans for clients.
  • Knowledge Capital & Thought Leadership: Develop and share knowledge capital and thought leadership pieces on indirect tax matters.
  • Team Capability Building & Talent Development: Build and develop the capabilities of the indirect tax team, identifying and developing talent within the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integrated Solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory; additional qualifications such as LLB or MBA (Finance/Taxation) preferred.
  • Professional Experience: 15+ years of experience in Indirect Tax (GST, Customs, Excise), with at least 5+ years in a leadership/Partner/Director role in a Big4 or top-tier consulting firm.
  • Proven expertise in GST legislation, litigation, and strategic tax advisory across industries.
  • Strong experience in business development and revenue origination.
