Job Opportunity: Production Merchandiser

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence through process enhancements, performance monitoring, and effective team coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development:

  • Source and select suitable fabrics, trims, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to develop samples, including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality.
  • Review and approve samples to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop yearly and monthly production plans, considering order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including materials and labor.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and resources, monitor production progress, and proactively address any issues or delays.

Vendor Management:

  • Select and negotiate contracts with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Establish consistent quality and timely delivery standards with vendors.

Costing and Budgeting:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Manage budgets and track expenses to maintain production costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality.

Quality Control:

  • Establish quality standards and guidelines for production processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks at various stages of production.
  • Work with the production team to implement corrective actions when necessary.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays.
  • Optimize stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.

Production Coordination:

  • Coordinate with various production departments, ensuring seamless communication and workflow.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of production activities, including orders, deliveries, and inspections.
  • Prepare regular reports on production status, costs, and quality metrics.
Requirements:

Educational Background:

A degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with textile and garment manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.

Negotiation Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills to manage vendor relationships and contracts.
