Revenue Recognition Senior Associate Job Description

  • A senior-level position that focuses on the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform thorough reviews of contracts to guarantee revenue recognition aligns with applicable accounting principles.
  2. Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts.
  3. Support quarterly and annual external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with various internal teams, including operations, general ledger accounting, IT, and others.
  5. Conduct ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting as required.
  6. Oversee special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce graduate.
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably revenue accounting.
  • Public accounting or professional services experience highly preferred.
  • CA/CPA certification or pursuit thereof is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Workday experience is an asset.
