Product Development Manager

Job Summary:

The Product Development Manager will oversee the creation and optimization of new products. This role requires a strong background in formulation development, with experience in developing Solid and Liquid Oral products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, activities, and timelines, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Lead the execution of new formulations by investigating API characteristics, viability, safety, and compatibility with other ingredients.
  • Identify resource requirements for projects and assimilate literature information collected by project teams.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs using QBD principles for all new product development projects and processes.
  • Plan and coordinate the execution of lab scale-up/optimization and pilot BE batches while ensuring strict adherence to lab GMP systems and practices.
  • Review Lab experiment notebooks and prepare technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise and coordinate with technology transfer teams/production teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
  • Program for the optimization of existing product performance by researching API characteristics and finished products.
  • Evaluate stability protocols, monitor stability studies, and interpret results to advance further for product development activities.
  • Liaise and communicate with various departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents.
  • Monitor IQ, OQ, and PQ activities of new machines and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel on equipment, instruments, and systems.
  • Ensure proper storage and destruction of raw materials and finished goods and maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory.
  • Participate in departmental audits and ensure compliance to recommendations.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:

  • Master in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience of Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred to have Pellets project experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours or any shift based on requirement.
  • Willingness to visit manufacturing sites whenever required.
