Job Summary:

The Production Merchandiser plays a vital role in managing product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, logistics coordination, and more.

About the Role:

  • Manage product development from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design.
  • Ensure all raw materials, job workers, and internal/external production teams are aligned for timely delivery of production.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with partners and vendors (mills and traders, labels and tags suppliers, job workers, fabricators, and garment manufacturers).
  • Develop, evaluate, and present pre-development samples.
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability, making necessary adjustments.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve best costing.
  • Develop and manage production timelines and schedules to ensure timely delivery of retail products. Coordinate with design and development teams to understand product specifications, materials, and production requirements.
  • Finding alternative solutions and suppliers to achieve best costing without compromising on quality and timelines.
  • Making bill of material for bulk orders & production runs.
  • Sourcing, developing: raw materials, trims, accessories, job workers.
  • Ensuring all raw materials are planned, ordered, and followed up stringently to avoid timeline surprises.
  • Visit job workers and factories to track production on a regular basis.
  • Managing all kinds of dispatches, coordinating with courier partners, invoices, and payments across all vendors, working closely with the Finance team.
  • Identifying and working with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and production services. Negotiating terms and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production. Monitoring vendor performance and addressing any issues related to product quality, delivery, or compliance.
  • Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards and specifications.
  • Conducting inspections and overseeing testing of materials and finished products to identify and resolve quality issues.

About You:

  • A 4-5 years of experience in PD, buying, merchandising, and production with a proven track record of success in similar roles.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories and factory supplier base.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
