Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Lead to join our team at the Plant in Derabassi, Punjab. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality raw materials, packaging materials, and services for our food processing operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, analysing market trends, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, prices, and payment terms, ensuring supplier compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Procurement Operations: Manage procurement processes, including requisition, tendering, and purchasing, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels, minimizing waste and excess, implementing just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems.
  • Cost Control and Budgeting: Develop and manage procurement budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Quality and Food Safety: Ensure suppliers meet food safety and quality standards, collaborating with QA teams on supplier audits.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and develop procurement team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in food processing or related industry, proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations, excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, proficient in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
