Database Administration Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in database development within a large enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Intersystems IRIS/Cache(Ensemble) efficiently, ensuring optimal performance and security. This includes implementing robust security best practices and access control policies to safeguard sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Performance Optimization: Develop capacity plans and fine-tune database performance for maximum efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement high availability and interoperability solutions to ensure seamless operations, establish robust reporting and mirroring systems for real-time insights, and install, upgrade, and patch databases regularly to maintain integrity.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely resolutions to maintain database uptime, manage database maintenance solutions to ensure smooth operation, and integrate monitoring and support tools in IRIS for proactive issue resolution.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Database Design and Modeling: Understanding of database design and data modeling principles.
  • Integrations and ETL: Experience integrating IRIS with ETL/BI software for enhanced data analysis.
  • Technical Tools and Methodologies: Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) and release management systems (e.g., Azure DevOps), proficiency in Azure and Agile methodologies.
  • Coding Fundamentals: Strong understanding of Intersystems IRIS/Cache(Ensemble) coding fundamentals.
