Business Intelligence Specialist Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence and analytics, with the ability to develop and implement data-driven solutions to support financial reporting and analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using various tools and technologies, including Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Looker, Knime, Alteryx, and BigQuery.
  • Analyze internal data to identify opportunities for data products and create reporting solutions to meet business needs.
  • Drive the run-and-operate transformation initiative by providing in-depth analysis of Verizon's financial data, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and customer trends.
  • Anticipate future business needs and build scalable solutions that address current and future data requirements.
  • Interpret complex business requests and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on reports and data visualizations.
  • Lead and execute reporting process automation using various tools and technologies.
  • Establish and share best practices for building reports, dashboards, and visualizations, promoting a culture of self-service analytics with appropriate guardrails.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to understand their needs and create data automation and visualization solutions using a single source of truth.
  • Provide requirements to the data products team and translate cross-functional business requirements into data product requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends and techniques to envision and implement innovative business intelligence solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to identify and address reporting requirements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance data analysis, reporting efficiency, and methodology.
