Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

This role involves developing and maintaining automated tests for both UI and backend, ensuring the highest quality standards across the application.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement and maintain automated tests using Selenium WebDriver, RestAssured, Postman and Cucumber frameworks.
  2. Develop, enhance and refactor automation frameworks to ensure scalability, maintainability and reusability.
  3. Write and maintain test cases that cover functional, regression, integration and performance testing.
API Testing
  1. Write automated API tests using RestAssured and Postman for validating RESTful APIs.
  2. Create data-driven tests and automate API validation against different environments.
  3. Ensure robust API coverage, including edge cases and negative test scenarios.
Agile and Continuous Integration (CI/CD)
  1. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  2. Ensure tests are executed as part of the build and deployment processes, reporting the results promptly.
  3. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprints, standups, retrospectives) and work in an iterative, fast-paced environment.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting
  1. Exceptional technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly analyze complex issues and resolve them independently.
  2. Ability to debug, isolate and fix issues in both test code and application code.
  3. Experience in performance testing, stress testing and identifying potential bottlenecks.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
  1. Partner with product management, development and operations teams to ensure alignment on quality goals and deliverables.
  2. Work closely with developers to design and implement test strategies that support development cycles and meet business requirements.
  3. Lead cross-functional communication between engineering, product and QA teams to ensure everyone is aligned on quality standards and release timelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a deep understanding of QA processes and a proven ability to be an independent contributor who can unblock themselves and peers.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Knowledge of mobile test automation tools such as Appium.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience in the game industry or with game-specific automation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for managing test environments.
