Lead Fund Accountant

As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing monthly financial closes, preparing management reports, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) while collaborating closely with senior accountants, certified public accountants (CPAs), and partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage full-cycle accounting processes in QuickBooks or similar systems
- Record and track interest, fee, and equity income across structured investment deals
- Prepare investor-ready financial statements and management reports
- Support CPAs on tax preparation, filings, and fund administration tasks
- Review financials from 1–5 portfolio companies and identify variances
- Ensure GAAP-compliant reporting across multiple industries and entities
- Develop standardized reporting templates and assist chief financial officers (CFOs)/finance leads
- Minimum 5 years of direct fund accounting experience, preferably in private equity, private debt, or fund administration
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity consolidations
- Background working with companies in the $10M–$100M revenue range
- Ability to manage both fund-level and portfolio-level reporting
- CPA certification preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms
- Clear communication skills with excellent documentation abilities
- Operator mindset — adding value beyond compliance and reporting
- Able to balance recurring financial closes with special projects
