Market Risk Specialist

This role involves overseeing specialized risk management functions within the Enterprise Risk Management practice of a bank. The key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing policies and guidelines for enhanced monitoring of treasury, investment, ALM, and liquidity risks.
  • Valuing treasury portfolios, including forex, fixed income, derivatives, equity, and other assets.
  • Providing independent mid-office monitoring support for non-performance, fixed income, FIG, derivatives, limit monitoring, and hedge effectiveness.
  • Implementing and calculating capital charges and counterparty risk charges.
  • Conducting technical analysis of equities, bonds, and money market funds.
  • Monitoring limits related to treasury activities in accordance with internal and regulatory policies.
  • Reconciling mark-to-market values with counterparty banks and making or responding to margin calls.
  • Preparing daily and periodic reports and board notes on accurate and timely submission.
  • Enhancing methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures, such as potential future exposure and credit value adjustment.
Liquidity Risk and ALM Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and simulating liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) and net stable funding ratio (NSFR).
  • Robustly monitoring and reporting on maturity of ALM products.
  • Setting limits for maturity and sensitivity using statistical modeling techniques.
  • Generating interest rate risk on bank's book basis or via sensitivity report analysis.
  • Understanding behavioral studies of ALM products.
  • Implementing experience of ALM/market risk system from end to end.
  • Pricing and hedging banking products across asset classes, including rates, FX, and bonds.
  • Being well-versed in stress testing of liquidity and interest rate risk.
  • ICAAP, RAROC, FTP methodologies, and RAS will be preferable.
  • Handling audit queries and providing active assistance in audits.
Requirements

6-8 years of relevant work experience for Middle East banks.
