Job Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services
  • Gain deep knowledge of complex applications
  • Assist in the roll-out and ramp up of new product features and technologies to facilitate rapid iteration and constant growth
  • Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale Linux environment
  • Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
  • Participate in a 24x7 rotation for second-tier escalations

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or related practical experience
  • 5+ years experience with administration and troubleshooting of Unix/Linux systems
  • 5+ years experience coding in one or more programming languages like Rust, Go, Python, Perl, Ruby etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • Experience with .NET, C#, Android or iOS development
  • Experience in building systems automation and server backends with Python
  • Experience with writing scalable programs in Rust/Golang/Python
  • Previous experience working with geographically-distributed coworkers
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with Developers, SREs, Network Engineers, Product Managers, etc.
  • Knowledge of data structures, relational and non-relational databases, networking, Linux internals, filesystems, web architecture, and related topics
