UAV Program Lead

This is a critical role to build and scale UAV capabilities from prototype to operational deployment.

The successful candidate will lead the development, integration, and deployment of UAV platforms for AI-powered defense and surveillance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the UAV lifecycle management process from design and integration to flight testing and operational deployment.
  • Architect UAV platforms with advanced sensors, flight controllers, payloads (EO/IR gimbals, Jetson-class compute), and secure comms.
  • Oversee system architecture, mission planning software, communication protocols, and security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers on sensor data processing, computer vision, and machine learning algorithm development.
  • Establish and enforce technical standards, procedures, and guidelines for UAV development and operations.
  • Define UAV coordination, handoff, and scaling strategies: multi-drone coordination, handoff, and scaling.
  • Build and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and researchers for UAV development and operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for UAV program management, technical oversight, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in UAV/avionics/robotics engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in embedded systems, MAVLink protocol, mission planning software.
  • Hands-on experience with various UAV types (quad/hex/octocopters, fixed-wing).
  • Knowledge of EO/IR gimbals, lidar, radars, sensors.
  • Strong grasp of computer vision, signal processing, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics.
  • Exposure to drone swarming and swarm coordination.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management, version control systems, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
