UAV Systems Engineer

As a UAV systems engineer, you will have the opportunity to design and develop cutting-edge unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. You will work closely with our team to integrate advanced hardware and software components, ensuring safe and reliable UAV operations.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop UAV systems, including airframes, flight controllers, and payloads.
  • Integrate and configure PX4/ArduPilot-based flight controllers, as well as implement waypoint missions, geofencing, and failsafe behaviors.
  • Tune UAV flight performance by adjusting PID tuning and EKF parameters.
  • Develop and integrate EO/IR gimbals, Jetson companion computers, and other sensors into UAVs.
  • Support simulation-based development using tools like AirSim and Gazebo SITL, and transition to field testing.
  • Conduct thorough bench tests, tethered flights, and live flight trials, following established safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate computer vision and weather-related modules on-board UAVs.
  • Troubleshoot UAV avionics, power systems, and telemetry links, and maintain detailed logs of flight tests and anomalies.


Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3–7 years of experience in UAV engineering, with a strong understanding of flight dynamics and GNSS/IMU sensor calibration.
  • Hands-on expertise with PX4/ArduPilot, QGroundControl/Mission Planner, and other relevant tools.
  • Experience with UAV integration, including airframes, propulsion, batteries, and payloads.
  • Strong grasp of electronics and programming concepts, including BASIC knowledge of power distribution, soldering, ESCs, and BECs.
  • Prior experience with hands-on prototyping and flight testing is essential.


Preferred Background:
  • Academic or project experience in drone or autonomous systems, or participation in student UAV competitions.
  • Background in robotics, aerospace research, or related fields is a plus.
