As a Security Engineer specializing in Radio Frequency and Communication Systems, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure communication protocols for mission-critical UAV systems. This role requires a unique blend of radio engineering, cybersecurity, and UAV operations expertise to ensure that our systems remain secure, resilient, and compliant with defense requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement secure communication links for UAVs, including telemetry, command/control, and video streaming.
  • Integrate and test advanced encryption methods on UAV links, such as AES-256 or military-grade encryption.
  • Design and deploy cryptographic protocols for friend-or-foe identification, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Develop RF anomaly detection modules to identify potential threats from GNSS spoofing and jamming.
  • Collaborate with UAV Systems Engineers to integrate communication systems with PX4/ArduPilot platforms.
  • Ensure the security of APIs, alert pipelines, and metadata streams within SOC/VMS systems.
  • Conduct thorough RF field tests to assess range, resilience, and interference tolerance.
  • Establish and manage key management systems for secure crypto rotation.
  • Detailed documentation of security architectures, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of 4–8 years of experience in RF engineering, comms security, telecom, or defense comms.
  • Strong understanding of radio protocols, including LoRa, UWB, SDR, COFDM, LTE/5G.
  • Familiarity with encryption standards, such as AES, ECC, PKI, and secure key distribution methods.
  • Experience with GNSS systems and techniques for detecting spoofing and jamming.
  • Knowledge of UAV telemetry protocols, including MAVLink and RTSP/ONVIF for video transmission.
