Rigging Operations Expert

This is a challenging role that requires expertise in planning and executing complex rigging operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction engineering, particularly in the use of lifting equipment, alternative heavy lifting systems, mobile gantries, jacking, tailing, rigging equipment, and load distributions systems.

  • Develops technical input into transport and rigging strategies by advising construction contractors and field engineering personnel on crane and heavy transport requirements.
  • Reviews risk lift plans and site transport plans submitted by contractors or others, or organizes the approval for critical lift and transport studies.
  • Monitors compliance of rigging operations with approved rigging plans and applicable codes.
  • Ensures signal persons, riggers, CPRs, and crane operators are qualified/certified as required by statutory codes and procedures.
  • Monitors the performance of the rigging craft.

In this role, you will be responsible for establishing a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with Area Field Engineer including agreement on engineering deliverables.

The successful candidate will have a recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above.

Required Skills:
  • Extensive working knowledge of rigging planning and execution standards and requirements.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in construction engineering in the use of lifting equipment, alternative heavy lifting systems, mobile gantries, jacking, tailing, rigging equipment, and load distributions systems.
  • Experience in brown field work, rigging studies and execution.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
