Job Description

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the mechanical design of multi-gas sensor products from concept to production. You will engage with customers to understand their needs and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration.

  • Design complete sensor systems, including housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments.
  • Collaborate with electronics, materials, and compliance teams to ensure optimal product performance and cost.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Taking full ownership of the mechanical design process from concept to production.
  • Engaging with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Designing complete sensor systems that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Optimizing designs for suitability to manufacture, performance, and cost across diverse environmental conditions.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/product design.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
  • Strong aesthetic sense: color, geometry, simplicity.
  • Expert in CAD tools: SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Inventor, CATIA.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You should bring the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/product design.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
  • Member of a Formula One Student Team (must-have).
  • Strong grasp of DFM principles and product rollout lifecycle.
