Job Opportunity: Lead Database Administrator

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Database Administrator to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance databases that meet the business requirements of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical expertise to design, implement, and maintain high-performance databases.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  3. Ensure database security, compliance, and integrity by implementing robust monitoring and alert systems.
  4. Monitor and optimize database performance, tune queries and indexes, and manage vacuuming and bloat.
  5. Implement pooling (PgBouncer) and maintain robust monitoring and alerts.
  6. Diagnose and recover from cluster corruption using advanced tools and procedures.
  7. Plan and execute major upgrades, cross-version and cross-platform migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning.
  • Proven experience with HA and replication solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with PITR, disaster recovery, and cluster rebuilds.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling critical incidents.

We also require proficiency in MySQL DBA duties such as backup and restore operations, user management, and replication setup.
