Job Role Overview

The Jhagadia Float Glass manufacturing unit is one of Saint-Gobain's strategic investments in western India. Acquired in 2011, it has set a high-quality benchmark standard within India and globally.

Located at Central Gujarat in Jhagadia of Bharuch District, the state-of-the-art float glass plant spans an area of 150 acres with a capacity to produce 550 MT of clear glass per day.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, switchgears, motors, EOT cranes, battery systems, UPS, PCC, MCC, plant lighting, and PLCs.
  • Knowledge in gensets, electrical panels, transformers, isolators, and lightning arrestors.
  • Maintenance of soft starters, automation systems, basic operations of PLCs, and SCADA.
  • Troubleshooting of AC/DC machines, circuit theory, earthing concepts, control systems, and protection devices.
  • VFD and PLC applications, knowledge of encoders and feedback sensors.
  • HV, MV, LV power systems and equipment, electrical generation, distribution system, and energy efficiency improvements.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Diploma - Electrical Engineering from reputable institutions with good academic records.
  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing or process industries.
  • Ability to deploy functional knowledge, detail orientation, analytical skills, team player, and multicultural compatibility.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate to Bharuch/Ankleshwar.
  • Comfortable working in shifts.
