Procurement Expert

Maximize purchasing efficiency and minimize costs by developing effective procurement strategies, negotiating favorable deals, and fostering strong vendor relationships. Key performance indicators track expenses and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Strategy Development: Lead the development of innovative procurement plans to meet business objectives, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closing: Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms, leveraging market analysis and cost-benefit analysis to drive value.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power, informing procurement decisions and mitigating risk.
  • Cost and Scenario Analysis: Conduct thorough cost and scenario analyses, benchmarking against industry standards to optimize procurement processes and improve profitability.
  • Purchasing and Contract Management: Establish, refine, and implement purchasing and contract management guidelines, policies, and procedures, as well as online systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with sales teams on new proposals and partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
Operational Duties:
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and enhance effectiveness.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Identify and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Delivery Planning: Determine quantity and timing of deliveries to meet business needs.
  • Requisition and Purchase Order Processing: Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for essential supplies and equipment.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensure responsible budget management within the purchasing department.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, train, and develop staff members.
  • Contract Review: Evaluate POs/contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Dispute Resolution: Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
  • Specification Evaluation: Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Material Disposal: Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (Mechanical) BE/MBA (MM/SCM)
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills required.
  • Work Experience: 10 to 15 years of previous experience; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, detail-oriented.
