Utility Systems Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of our utility systems, ensuring seamless plant operations and adherence to safety and efficiency standards.

About the Role:

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of cooling towers, compressors, pump houses, ETP & STP, and other utility systems to guarantee uninterrupted plant operations and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Plan and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Monitor utility equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution to prevent costly disruptions.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of critical spare parts to ensure operational continuity and reduce the risk of equipment failure.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to meet plant requirements and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance, energy consumption, and maintenance activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and implement cost optimization initiatives that balance equipment reliability and efficiency while driving business value.
  • Lead and guide a team of technicians/operators in utility operations and maintenance, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and extensive experience in managing utility equipment and mechanical maintenance. The successful incumbent will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility operations and maintenance, preferably in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
