Job Title

This is a unique full-time hybrid role for an experienced PDF Accessibility Analyst.

The PDF Accessibility Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that digital content is accessible and meets regulatory compliance standards.

Day-to-day tasks include converting documents to accessible formats, conducting thorough accessibility audits, maintaining comprehensive project documentation, and collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities:
  • Experience in PDF conversion and accessibility features
  • Knowledge of widely accepted accessibility standards such as WCAG, Section 508, and ADA guidelines
  • Familiarity with industry-standard accessibility tools like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a hybrid work environment
  • Background in the publishing or educational content industry is highly valued
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Convert print or digital content into structured XML and ePub formats for seamless digital publishing.
  • Ensure all content adheres to EPUB 3.0, DAISY, HTML5, and accessibility standards.
  • Validate XML/ePub files using rigorous testing methods and relevant tools.
  • Collaborate closely with content developers, designers, and QA teams to maintain quality and consistency throughout.
  • Thoroughly debug and fix formatting, layout, and structural issues in XML or ePub files.
  • Develop or maintain XSLT scripts for transforming content between formats.
  • Handle metadata tagging for ebooks and digital content.
  • Test digital products across multiple devices and platforms.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for workflows, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in digital publishing standards and tools.
